THE BLUE DOLPHINS
The Blue Dolphins are a Los Angeles-based songwriting duo composed of singer/ songwriter Victoria C. Scott and two-time Grammy Award winning producer/engineer Alfonso G. Rodenas.
Characterized by beautiful melodies, tight harmonies and an uplifting positive mood, their musical style embraces Folk, Pop and Rootsy Rock with a unique timeless quality.
The duo write in a commercial style both natural and unpretentious, attracting a wide range of listeners with its universal themes and laid-back charm. Their music also has a special appeal with modern adult audiences (AAA).
The band’s debut acoustic album, My Favorite Word Is Today (2012), was followed by the EP In Between (2013), and Walking in the Sun (2014/15) which was released in mid March as and advance of what was their full length album Come On! (released later that same year in September). The duo have also released a number of eclectic independent singles.

COME ON is a collection of songs the band recorded
on the spot during 2014/15.
Victoria grew up outside of London, England, fascinated by her father's collection of Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Little Richard and Rolling Stones records. After learning to play the recorder, piano and guitar, Scott had also taught herself to sing by the age of 12, emulating the various styles of Carole King, Nina Simone, N'Dea Davenport and Aretha Franklin.
Alfonso Rodenas is a two-time Grammy-award winning sound engineer from Spain. His music career began as
a bassist in the indie pop-rock band Vitamin Vil in Valencia, Spain, and has since spanned 25 years, the last 11 of which have seen him work as a freelance producer, recording and mixing engineer in Los Angeles, CA.
Victoria and Alfonso met fatefully at the legendary rock pit "The Cat Club" on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles and soon started playing and recording together. Their debut album, 2012’s My Favorite Word Is Today, is a soulful blend of Indie, Folk/Rock and Bossa Nova. Simple and unfettered, they kept their focus on acoustic instruments, stripped down production and emotionally honest vocals. Critics hailed the album. Pamela Des Barres, author of I'm with the Band, said the “album’s sentiments touched my heart" and described Victoria’s voice as “just gorgeous".
2013’s In Between EP grouped songs recorded by the band between its two major works to date. It shows the musical couple departing from its original acoustic sound into an unmapped new music landscape, full of emergent future possibilities.

mixing engineer in Los Angeles, California, where
he has lived since 2003.
In 2014 the duo started work on a collection of new songs, 14 of which was released in 2015 titled Come On!. The album is a major push forward for the band toward a more complex and fully produced music scenario, where sonic aesthetics and songwriting are richer and more varied, departing from the pared-down premises and acoustic songs that characterized their first work.
Come On! embraces Folk, Pop and Rootsy Rock with the duo’s characteristic optimism and charm.
The Blue Dolphins play to major fan bases in the US, UK and Spain, and went on the Come On! world tour in spring/summer 2015.

Reflected Light- Rick's vocals and delivery remind me of David Bowie a bit (not just in this song, but many of them). I like the beat- very hopeful. The guitar playing really shines through beautifully.
Save My Soul- Like the album description states, his music has a definite point of view which shines through brilliantly on this song.
American Dream- nice keys opening. Gorgeous! I was very drawn to this song. Rick's vocals have a very delicate deliverance."
Album Impression- Once I gave The Reality Express the ‘twice-over’, I stopped viewing it as an album and saw it more as a music book- each song in itself as a chapter with a story you’re on baited breath to see how it unravels and ends. While his songs could easily be individual stand-alones in their own right, the album is cohesive and works as one solid piece, too, and that is the magic of Rick Moses. I’d proudly recommend this album to fans of any age.

"Rick Moses’ album, The Reality Express, is like a musical goodie box in many ways. You reach in, wondering all the while, what auditory treat you’ll draw next. And you are not disappointed. Each song is different in terms of its melody and lyrics and yet, the album works as a collection, held together by the common threads of a beautiful guitar sound and smoky vocals. If ‘California Night’ is the quintessential heartbreak city song, the funky notes of ‘Zombies with Spoons’ are almost Jamiroquai meeting Elvis’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes’.
Moses’ voice is like a good single malt scotch whisky – rich and smooth - and against the backdrop of the lilting guitar, it gives the album a very Dire Straits-like feel, especially in songs like ‘Last Man Standing’ and ‘American Dream’. This, however, does not take away from the individuality or uniqueness of the album’s overall sound in any way. If anything, it makes the sound more distinctive. All in all, this album is an acoustic journey. You’re sure to enjoy the ride!"
